Salsa for a Cure is one of a kind:

• It will be a community base event including Salseras and Salseros, families of Salseras and Salseros, friends of Salseras and Salseros, corporate supporters of Salsa and others that are willing to contribute to our community in a hope for a cure.
• Having fun is a must!
• Enjoying good music and camaraderie with others.
• Celebrating life for those who have survived, remembering those close to us who lost their battle and come together as a community to fight cancer.

Salsa for a Cure is a community that supports a valuable cause. We all know someone who has had their life changed because of cancer and it doesn’t discriminate. Join us and let’s fight cancer with salsa!

Salsa for a cure will be a fundraising event that takes place in our community and in the future, across the nation. This year, salseras and saleros across the city will raise hundreds of dollars to fuel the Salsa for a Cure mission. As a newly formed, community-oriented based volunteer organization, the Salsa for a Cure Organization is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. This year we will unite in the fight against cancer and host our First Annual Salsa for a Cure Gala.

This event will be held on Saturday, August 23. 2008 at 6:00 p.m. cocktail hour begins. We will be selling tickets at $25.00 per person; Hosted by La Kalle, host performances, a dance contest with prizes and a ceremony to honor those who have lost their battle with this disease. This event will unite our community of New York City in the remembrance of cancer victims, celebration of survivors and act as a declaration of support for the fight against cancer on all levels.

All proceeds from the Salsa for a Cure event will go towards the American Cancer Society, which seeks to prevent cancer, save lives, and diminish suffering from cancer in four major ways: research, education, advocacy, and patient services. This year our goal is to raise more than $20,000. We eagerly anticipate great success, publicity and over 500, enthusiastic salseras and salseros also visitors who are all committed to the fight against cancer.

We welcome EVERY contribution in the effort against cancer.
